HVAC SEO audit

Before anyone sells you a plan, you should know what is actually wrong. The audit is where every engagement here starts.

What an audit should tell you

Not a 200-page automated report. Three things you can act on, in order, and the reasoning behind them.

Where you actually stand. Rankings measured across your whole service area, map pack visibility on a grid, and how each of those compares with the three contractors taking your calls.

What is holding you back, ranked. Every site has dozens of issues. Most do not matter. The audit separates the two and tells you which three to fix first.

What it would take. Realistic effort, realistic timeline, realistic outcome — including an honest answer if search is not going to be your best channel.

What the audit covers

Everything below is included. If something is not on this list, we will tell you before we invoice for it.

  • Keyword rankings across your service area
  • Grid-based map pack visibility
  • Google Business Profile completeness and errors
  • Review volume, rating and velocity versus competitors
  • Core Web Vitals and mobile speed
  • Full technical crawl
  • Indexation and duplicate content
  • Service page quality and intent match
  • Keyword cannibalisation
  • Backlink profile and competitor gap
  • Citation consistency
  • Conversion path and call-to-action review

How the audit runs

About a week end to end, and you get a call to walk through it rather than a PDF and silence.

Days 1–2

Data collection

Crawl, rank tracking, grid scans, profile review, competitor benchmarking. Nothing needed from you at this stage.

Days 3–4

Analysis

Sorting the issues that matter from the ones that do not. This is the part automated tools cannot do.

Day 5

Prioritisation

Everything ordered by impact against effort, so you know what to do first even if you do it yourself.

Day 6

Walkthrough

A call where we explain the findings in plain language and you can argue with them.

After

Your decision

You keep the audit either way. There is no obligation to work with us.

Questions about SEO audit

Is the audit really free?

The initial audit is, yes. It costs us a few hours and it is a more honest sales pitch than a discovery call. A significant share of contractors who request one never become clients, which is fine.

What is the difference between the free audit and a paid one?

The free audit covers everything visible from outside. A paid deep audit adds log file analysis, Search Console history, full content inventory and a detailed twelve-month roadmap. Most contractors do not need the second one.

Do you need access to our website?

Not for the free version. For a deep audit, read access to Search Console and Analytics finds considerably more.

Will you just tell us to buy your services?

Sometimes the honest answer is that your site is fine and your problem is that you have forty reviews and your competitor has four hundred. We would rather tell you that than sell you a content package.

How often should an audit be repeated?

Annually for a stable site, and always before or after a rebuild, a migration or a significant ranking drop.
