Terms of service

A template covering site use and the shape of a client engagement. Have it reviewed before publishing.

This is a placeholder. Replace it with terms drafted or reviewed for the jurisdictions you work in. Cross-border service contracts raise real questions about governing law, payment terms and dispute resolution that a template cannot answer for you.

What these terms should cover

Website use. Acceptable use, intellectual property in site content, and the limits of any information published here.

Scope of services. What is delivered, what is not, and how changes to scope are agreed and priced.

No guarantee of results. Stated plainly. Search rankings depend on systems neither party controls.

Fees and payment. Amounts, currency, billing cycle, late payment terms and what happens on non-payment.

Term and termination. Minimum term, notice period, and what transfers on exit — which should be everything.

Ownership. Client owns the website, content, profiles and accounts created during the engagement.

Confidentiality. Mutual, covering business information shared in both directions.

Liability. Limitations and exclusions, drafted to be enforceable where your clients are.

Governing law. Which jurisdiction applies and how disputes are resolved.
